no music, no life =D

i have never been as crazy about music as i was before. really.

i've been downloading a lot of different stuff lately, some i didn't even know existed, which is all good because my musical knowledge is expanding and i'm starting to like what i hear. :)

and thankfully, it's not at all that hard anymore to ask my mom if i can go to gigs. yay! going to gigs is now a typical weekend thing. hehe.

now if only i had the money to buy all those CD's of those bands i like (both local and foreign - please DO NOT SUPPORT PIRACY!) and an IPOD for all my songs. that would be sheer bliss. :)

standing here, slowing down as i try to hustle..

saturday night was fun fun fun :)

first had dinner (well it was actually desert) with pat, cha, ponay and mark at cibo then off we went to yero bar for some drinks :) had the chance to catch up on things..it's just too bad reese wasn't there to join us. finally met mark! (well, i think we already met at penguin last year, although this time we had the chance to talk) such a nice guy..he and punky look cute together. heehee.

at about 12, pat and i left them to go to saguijo and catch what's left of revolver. got there just in time for wolfmann's para. yay! finally i got to see him, although it was already his last song. oh well, i know there'll be other gigs. pat left in the middle of svc so off i went to ask chuckie where i could buy wolfmann's diner. he brought me outside where i was able to buy the cd and he also introduced me to wolfmann. yay! he also signed my cd. kewlness. :) then chuckie introduced me to the other listers (yay! new friends) who were kinda erm makulit but very friendly :) hehe. really had fun.

oh i saw daydreamkathy :) sayang i didn't get to see her sing baked mussels (which is turning out to be my fave! ♥) hopefully, next time. ;)

im not a lurker in wolfmann's ML anymore...they got me to post! haha. and i probably will be posting frequently (probably more frequently than in the maya ML...hehe, oops). they are such nice people. awshucks.

2005? definitely will be a great year! :)

on a music hunt

realization: just when i'm going on a cd splurge (which i rarely do but should, more often), the cd's i want (jeff buckley, ani difranco, the best of the cure, etc) are hard to find (uhm, well i didn't find it in tower and m1 makati) :( eeeeeppp. it's such a great thing that i could rely on my good old mp3s. sheesh.

i would've wanted to buy bamboo's as the music plays but there was none in m1 (tsk, should have already bought in tower where they had) so i just bought a copy of orange and lemons' love in the land of rubber shoes and dirty ice cream and i'm loving it. :) yay opm! :)

all things work together for good ;)

Saturday was just another one of those days when you think things were already bad, they were just getting worse.

We had no work for about 6 and something hours and then suddenly the client sends us something to do which had to be finished by end of day, thus we had to work overtime. Instead of leaving the office at the usual 7:30 in the morning, i left at 9:30. grr... i got home at a little before 11, had lunch then planned to sleep afterwards because i was already feeling terribly sleepy but decided instead to watch tv because a good movies was on (trapped!) after which was myx live where rivermaya played (i've already watched this but i can't resist on watching it again) i finally got to sleep after that and then woke up an hour later, around 4ish, because i had to get ready for my buddy rache's birthday celeb (which was at the other side of the world in novaliches, caloocan). then my mom tells me that there's no driver and i had to commute! my dad could only bring me to as far as mandaluyong. grrr... and i was actually looking forward to having a driver. hmph. so i got ready faster than usual coz i knew that it would take me longer to get there if i commuted. we were about to leave right then and there and then my unbelievable sister apparently doesn't know the directions on how to get to her party in mandaluyong. grr. it took about 40 minutes just to figure it out. by that time my mom and dad were already pissed and i was mega pissed! i was already late! grrrr... i couldn't believe it.

a good thing there was no traffic, i got to finally meet harris (although i was late) and then sarah and the rest of our friends (sarah at the last minute decided not to go because she had to be home early. boo ='( ) and then off we went to go to rache's.

after what seemed like ages, we finally got to her place and were actually the last ones to get there. awww..i felt happy when we reached the place coz some of my orgmates whom i haven't seen for a long time were there! reunion! i've missed them sooo much. it was hugs and kisses galore. after everything i went through throughout the day, somehow it didn't bother me that much anymore. :) i had a grand time. :) lotsa great food, catching up on each others' lives (the buzz! haha =b), videoke, camwhoring and trying my hand at playing the drums, going there was so worth it (even though the time i spent going there was actually longer than the time i spent there). i'm glad i did. =)

i hope we have one of these get-togethers again. no matter how far, trust me to be there. ;)

CSI:NY

if i were to be a kid again, i now know what i want to be when i grow up... =b i wanna be a crime scene investigator!! damn, they're good! the way they look at evidence, inspect them using different kinds of watchamacallits and see the bigger picture, it just totally blows me away. astig talaga!

it's quite hard to compare this csi from the original and csi:miami as i'm not a regular follower of both shows but in my opinion, this one's looking pretty good. :)

oh and speaking of the show, detective bonasera's really a deadringer for sarah jessica parker. heh. i thought it was her. =b ooh, and tag of f.r.i.e.n.d.s is there. kewlness.

the look on my face was PRICELESS :)

i finally got around to watching my incubus, live at red rocks dvd. awww... it brought back memories of the time they came here almost a year ago, and i was fortunate enough to have my pic taken with them twice! hehe.

this was supposedly just me and brandon but ben and dj decided to be in the pic too. hehe

they're so tall! haha. i'm again grinning from ear to ear, as i was in the first pic :)

yep, that's me with 3/5s of the band and it's not photoshopped or edited. =b it was taken at westin on march 11,2004, a day before the concert; a time when i, along with a few other incubus freaks decided to be stalkers for a day (i still stand firm by my word that i'm no stalker =b hey, it's incubus!). we started out in the airport (would you believe?) and ended up in their hotel where brutalgrace and i finally got the chance to meet the three of them in the flesh (lucky grace had her pic taken with brandon! *inggit!* but it's ok, meeting them was good enough for me). stalking them actually paid off. haha.

it was almost a year ago, but ask me about it and i'd probably be able to still give you all the details, well, almost all. we went through a lot that day you know. (all for incubus! hehe)

this is one of those memories i'm gonna be treasuring for a very long time ;)

can i just say that brandon boyd is just sooo HOT??? aaahh!! here's me again crushing on a rockstar! =b first it was gavin rossdale (who is just as HOT!) and now it's brandon. eeeepppp! what is it with lead singers and how they exude some hotness, eh?

jopay, kamusta ka na?

i only learned just recently that jopay is one of the sex bomb dancers. hehe. (incidentally, today is jopay's birthday, or so i read in the mayonnaise y!groups) and to think i consider myself updated of the "current events". hah. is it because i haven't been watching the buzz or those showbiz talk shows lately? =b

on to the subject of jopay, mayonnaise is already gonna be filming its video! :) yippee! and lee of slapshock is directing it! astig!

i super ♥ ♥ ♥ mayonnaise! i can't quite remember how i came to find out about them but i think it was just one of those random days when i was bored and couldn't think of any other site to go to so i went to soundclick.com and went through all the pinoy bands who uploaded their music there (whew, that was a long one). mayonnaise caught my eye so i downloaded all their songs. and i wasn't disappointed. really. they are a truly great band. :) my sister says they're the typical pinoy band whose music everyone could like and could be considered mainstream but i like them just the same. they've got the talent and i hope they make it big. ;)

i'm just 2 stickers away from getting my starbucks planner. yay! 2 more peppermint mochas to go. you know, had i only known that the starbucks planner would be that great i would have started ages ago with the sticker thing and gotten the planner in time for new year. hee. oh well.

speaking of starbucks, they finally got my name right. hah. i dunno if it was just noisy or they're just a bit deaf but they keep on putting belle instead of mel on my cups. i just think that belle means beauty and i don't mind it at all =b (although yesternight, our hot drinks got quite cold and grace's frap sorta melted already because i was looking for the wrong name..a good thing the barista kinda looked at me as if telling me that hey, your drinks are ready. they were ready alright, with the name belle written on them. hay...)

my parents are sometimes mistaken for kate's grandparents. hahahaha. funsville. they always have to say "anak namin 'yan, di namin apo" when they meet someone and kate is with them. hehe. i don't think my parents look that old to be grandparents (and when you think about it, do i look like the type to already have a kid? i think not. i'd like to think that i look young. =b)

i am such a sucker for romantic shows/films. there's something about them that makes me feel all giddy and kilig. heehee. currently, i am hooked to lovers in paris and am now on the 12th cd (of 20), after which i plan to watch those other korean romantic movies that we bought a while back. i can't believe i'm watching this over incubus. heh.

speaking of incubus, i bought the incubus dvd! coolness. considering it's uhm, original, its already cheap at P549. along with it, i bought coldplay's parachutes and onwards to galaxy which is a compilation of pinoy indie bands' music. all great buys i must say. and i plan to spend more on cds next week. cd splurge baby! i think it's about time i spend on cds. a bit expensive, but quite an investment =D

a different kind of new year

it's my first new year away from home and without my family ( i guess there's always a first time for everything). my teammates and i had to work this new year's eve since we follow the schedule of the US (and our new year's eve is just their 31st)

i thought it was gonna be pretty bad. but honestly, apart from the work, i had a great time. my office mate and i met at around 8pm to catch the new year's eve countdown party between ayala and paseo. it was fun. lotsa bands played and the ones we caught were itchyworms, asin (who played a very loooong set..we kinda walked out in the middle and went to watch the clowns and unicyclist. haha), bamboo (who opened with elisi followed by kung ayaw mo huwag mo and after few songs, ulan. uhm yeah. would've been better if they only played their own songs, i don't think the people kinda minded if they were playing rivermaya songs though. but i kinda did. >_<), sugarfree and sandwich (no marc abaya :( and trish of nu sessioned as guitarist). after that, we had to go back to the office for work (boo). it was already 11 and we had to be in by 10:30. =b a good thing, ella may saison was up next. hee.

around 5 minutes before 12 we all went down to catch the fireworks display. there was a fireworks display near mandarin and one near ayala/paseo. my sneaky officemate and i kinda left our other officemates, walked faster, and went to the ayala new year's eve party =b although the fireworks display that we saw was the one near mandarin. we stayed to watch (it was really a pretty and amazing sight =D) and then moved near the stage to watch parokya. haha. my officemate wanted to see them play so off we went. i also figured if i watched a gig on new year, i'll be watching gigs all year long. hehehe. (just like the belief that if you have money on new year's, you'll have money all year long =D)

we went back to the office after parokya's set. we then had a kinda good media noche, even if it was mostly take out. hehe. i got quite full. then it was work work work. i would have wanted to stay and see more bands such as imago, cambio, sponge cola and orange and lemons but there was work to be done and work does come first before play, right?

i'm then off to laguna later with my family to visit our relatives on our dad's side. i'll probably be sleeping on the way and when we get there, i'll probably be sleeping some more, as i always do when we go there =b haha. i am the sleepaholic ;)
