feliz navidad!

you know how some people say to not get uber excited and hyped up for something a few days before because your excitement might not last till the day itself? i find it kinda true (well, the opposite of it, actually).

christmas is really something to be excited for, yet as i've mentioned earlier, i haven't quite felt that it was already nearing. not until several hours later when it finally sank in - hey, it is really gonna be christmas! hehe. it was the only time i got really psyched up for it, and i was really really hyped up at that. it was a wonderful feeling; i don't think i've been that excited for christmas in years. maybe having to work till the 24th is a good thing after all. ;)

we had the usual noche buena, after having said a christmas prayer, with christmas carols playing at the background. kinda funny, when feliz navidad played, we all started swaying our heads, even my dad! haha. crazy crazy.

gifts were opened later on, not the usual number, probably because my dad already retired from the bank early this year (and we all know how working in a bank draws a lot of gifts). it was still fun nevertheless. i was really happy when i saw my mom's reaction when she got my gift (a red bag from girbaud which she really wanted); she was ecstatic. so was my sister kate and my sister grace when they saw their gifts. gayle, when she opened my gift, acted surprised because she actually already saw what was inside before it was wrapped! :( but anyway, she liked it. i think my dad liked his gift too, which was a ducks unlimited shirt. as usual, when he got the gift, he made such a kulit comment like ano to, nakuha mo ng 90% discount ano? my dad can be a riot sometimes, one of the traits that i truly love about him.

while i really like receiving more than giving (i mean, who doesn't, right?), giving comes a really close second (and there are only two choices. haha). it gives you this great feeling that you made a person really happy, never mind if you spend a lot, and you turn out less richer in the end (even broke, probably). the payback is doubled, even tripled. :)
